In the past few weeks the Sweet Bloom Studio has been a hub of creativity, buzz and bustle!!! The team have been busy baking, decorating and styling for an array of events (more on that later) whilst also hosting our first cake classes – with none other than the cake superstar herself, KATHERINE SABBATH! We feel so thrilled and lucky to partake in such a memorable collaboration class with Kat, especially on our first ever cake class endeavour.

For those who were lucky enough to come along, you will all know how wonderfully ‘normal’ Katherine is – such a warm, humble and gentle soul with so many creative bones in her body. She is an honest, fun-loving, ray of sunshine that we are now lucky to call a friend! In our first cake class, Dewi and Katherine joined artistic forces to produce a unique creation – a DESSERT TOWER CAKE. The outcome is overwhelmingly satisfying, something we are truly proud of!

The class is a hit! We start with a warm welcome into the Sweet Bloom Cakes Studio where Katherine and Dewi introduce themselves, informing guests of their backgrounds and cake endeavours. Then Kat takes the 1st half of the class through her infamous cake style by sharing her secrets with buttercream, frosting the cake and ganache drip, whilst amusing guests with her interesting tips, cake stories and experiences.

After a break for lunch, class resumes with Dewi teaching students the art of creating a dessert tower (that sits on top of the amazing drip cake created in the class with Katherine Sabbath). Students learn to wire real flowers, decorate different dessert pieces in a fun-tastic craft session and to assemble on the tower…we had SO much fun in our crafter-noon session with you all!

The DESSERT TOWER CAKE class has been quite a success so far – a very enjoyable and fulfilling class to teach to other cake/sweet/dessert enthusiasts who have been such a joy to meet. In our 1st class on Saturday July the 4th 2015, we were completely taken aback with how A.M.A.Z.I.N.G the end results were. AND we were equally pleased with the other 2 classes on Sunday the 5th July and Saturday 11th July – each Dessert Tower Cake looked a little different to the last, reflecting each individual’s take on the creation.

We can’t WAIT to embark on another cake class journey with some new students who love to create as much as we do – so we would like to formally announce 2 more NEW classes of the DESSERT TOWER CAKE with Katherine Sabbath. These will take place on Sunday 16th August and Sunday 23rd August (10am until 4:30pm) with lunch included, class notes, recipes and a beautiful Dessert Tower Cake of your own creation to take home and enjoy! Sweet Bloom Cakes derived from humble beginnings with a simple notion to create something special for someone in celebration. Dewi, Artistic Director, Stylist and Owner, sought to create cakes and sweet things with direct passion, creativity and true warmth for clients who believed in her vision and character. 5 years on and her grown success and continual commitment to her work has proved to have paid off, with many clients returning time after time for the generous, high standard service Sweet Bloom Cakes strives to provide on every occasion.
